(as described by me in the fall of 2010)
Preston knows no strangers… just future friends. Truly generous and philanthropic, he chooses people over projects. If he had three shoes, he would probably give you two and then invite you over for dinner. He connects with people of all classes, races, and walks of life without a thought of judgment. Becoming the lowest common denominator in any group, he takes a one down approach so that everyone can contribute and feels included. He reaches out a hand to anyone who will take it in genuine compassion and care.
One of the smartest persons I have ever met, Preston spends his days navigating complex problems and logic in the world of hydrogen production. A natural verbal processor and teacher, he shares his chemical engineering knowledge with me at the end of his day and explains how he uses the “big box of fire” with the “big britta filter” to make the most abundant element on the earth… I love it when he talks engineer.
Though extremely methodical, there is also a creative and lyrical side to Preston. With an album full of songs he’s written and a culinary air in the kitchen, I love to watch his process of creating. I cannot wait to share a lifetime of this act together.
Preston’s security in who he is and what he lives for is an anchor in my life. His confident steps know where to lead but his faith in something greater gives him the courage to step out in risk. His never ending energy adds color to my world and his grounded perspective help settle the storms.
